Soldiers For Christ Ministries
My name is Chip Watson. My friends call me "Trip".
I rededicated my life to Jesus about 12 years ago. Now I am a motorcycle Evangelist who loves to give my testimony.
I was raised in a Christian home and my step dad is an evangelist / pastor. I was raised with God in my life and gave my life to Jesus when I was young.
The world had a way of pulling me away from my walk.
The day I met my biological father I was 7. He is an outlaw biker and I guess that all little boys want to be like their father. I immediately fell in love with motorcycles.
The first time I got high was with him and thought if he was doing grass then it must be ok.
Some of my friends in high school also smoked pot and drank. He encouraged me to have "fun" as it was called then.
Little did I know the fun would soon end.
The excitement soon became a habit. I saw God as a King who ruled with an iron fist. I felt that if I made a mistake he was there on his big throne with a whip and an eraser just waiting to whip me and take my name out of the book of life.
So I thought since I am going to hell, let's give him a reason.
I lived on the edge, just one step ahead of the law.
Satan tried to take me out several times, but because I had praying parents and Grandparents, God spared my life. God knew that someday I would come back to him and he could use me to reach the unreachable because of the Hell I put myself through.
I moved to Borger Texas, an Oilfield town. You had to be tough to live there! I got married to my wife of 20 years, and to make a long story short, started riding motorcycles.
So, I had a bike or two along the way and I made some close friends.
Mac and his brother Billy were two. After a while we were together all the time, riding bikes together, getting drunk together, etc. Then one day Billy started to complain about his stomach hurting I laughed and told him all he need was a drink and pitched him a beer. This went on for a few weeks.
Then he went to the Doc and they found a growth the size of a small potato but "Easy to fix."
He went in for surgery and they found that they could not remove it. It was malignant and had roots that went through his liver and pancreas. In less than a year he lay dying in the hospital.
I would go and see him and watch TV with him. Then one day a man came in and asked Billy; "If he died right now, where would he spend eternity?"
Billy got real mad told him to get out; "There is no God, or heaven, or hell!" I knew that there was and I was going to tell him when he cooled down.
I did not tell him for the next three days.
How could I tell him? I was not living right either.
I went to see him the fourth day. His room was empty. I went to see the nurses. They told me my friend Billy had passed away that morning.
I was a pallbearer at the funeral. The preacher said he could not tell us where Billy went. That was between Billy and God.
On the way home my wife was asking why I was so quite. After several times of this I slammed on the brakes, slid the car into the ditch, and came totally unwound!
I fell apart and started hitting the steering wheel, crying uncontrollably. I told her I let my best friend go to Hell because I could not tell the truth! Because I was not living right and in good standing with the Lord!
She was crying now and I got mad and said; "What are you crying for?" She Said; "I have been marred to you 9 years and you have not shed a tear over anything!" I was beginning to think you had no feelings!"
It was true. I was hard as a rock.
I made a vow that day I would never let another friend go with out telling him or her the truth!
A few weeks later I asked JESUS back into my heart. So did my wife, Karen.
Our house is now a Christian one.
We have 2 boys who love JESUS also.
I have not broken that vow I made to Christ long ago.
If you would like a real Christian biker to come and speak and give his testimony at your Church, Fellowship Meeting, Park, Street Ministry, Neighborhood Ditch, or wherever, e-mail me and I will phone you and set up the dates!
May God richly bless you!
